Vacancy at Renmark Paringa Council
Last month we said farewell to our Director of Corporate and Community Services, Nathan Haynes. Nathan had been with Council for nine years and served his community well in that time. We would like to wish him the best of luck and every success in his next role.
In light of Nathans departure, we now have a vacancy at Renmark Paringa Council for the position of 'Director of Corporate and Community Services'. If you would like more information on what the role entails or how to apply please click here. Please note that the closing date is Monday 27 April 2015 at 9am.

Renmark Paringa Council, in partnership with Local Government Association of South Australia (LGA), are conducting a campaign seeking the reinstatement of Council Concessions Rate  ($190 for pensioners and concession card holders and $100 for self-funded retirees).
Copies of the 'Concessions on Council Rates Petition' are available to the public to sign at the Renmark Paringa Community and Civic Centre, the Renmark Paringa Visitor Information Centre, The Chaffey Community Centre and the Renmark Public Library. The deadline for signatures is Monday 18 May.

Congratulations to The Frames Ultra on winning the Silver Award for New Tourism Development at the Australian Tourism Awards on Friday 10 April. We are so proud of the achievements of all our local businesses and thank those who continuously strive to make the Riverland a wonderful place to live, visit and play.
GRANTS
Community Grants....
The Council officially opened the 2015/16 Community Development Grants program on Wednesday 25 March.
There have been a number of significant changes to the grants program to better meet the needs of community groups and organisations. The maximum grant amount has now risen to $5,000 (up from $4,000) to allow groups to undertake larger / more expensive projects. The Major and Minor grants program have now been merged into one program with amounts between $500 and $5,000 available. Applications for the Community Development Grants will close at 5.00pm on Monday 18 May.

If all the funding is not allocated through this first round of applications, community groups will have the opportunity to submit applications throughout the year - whilst funding is still available. There has been considerable interest in the grants so far with 19 people representing around 15 different organisations attending the Grants Information Session held on March 25 so any group considered applying for Council grant funding in 2015/16 is urged to submit an application by the May 18 deadline.
Grant Application Forms and Guidelines can be found on the Council website, emailed to you by contacting: grants@renmarkparinga.sa.gov.au or ringing Emma at the Council Office on 8580 3000.
