Innovation Erie Announces 2015 Winners on Gallery Night

The winners of the 2015 Innovation Erie Design Competition were announced on Friday September 25th at the Erie Art Museum. The Grand Prize winner of the 2015 Innovation Erie design competition is founder Emily Mobilia with Tab Togz! Tab Togz is a novel design application that allows users to personally brand, reserve, and mark their open drink containers.Tag Togz received $2,000 in cash and in-kind prizes that include residency at the Erie Technology Incubator, advertising support from PAPA advertising, access to MacDonald Illig intellectual property attorneys, and management support from the NWIRC. 

Other winners include Cherie Harger, Creator of "Map Heads"; Denys Fedorchenko, Inventor of Khonsu's "Easy Tent" (client of Erie Technology Incubator and former winner at Erie Collegiate Innovation Showcase); and Lisa Van Riper founder of Humble Elephant with her product, the laser engraved rolling pins. And last but not least, the public choice winner was founder Harry Zmijewski with Scissor Gun! Congrats to all! 


Ben Franklin Supports Six Erie Based Startups  

On September 16th, Ben Franklin Technology Partners announced that it has invested close to $1 Million in Pennsylvania based startups. Six companies in Erie received support from Ben Franklin! Among those companies were AcousticSheep, ApexDrop Influence Marketing, RendrFX, TM Filtration, and Code Kit PRO. Adam Williams Speaks to Networked Economies and Collaboration at Entrepreneur Meetup

On Monday, Attorney Adam Williams gave a talk to nearly fifty people at the Innovation Collaborative monthly entrepreneur meetup. Adam discussed how collaboration among local businesses can create a regional competitive advantage. He used the example of Erie's microbreweries, who have historically shared resources and information to empower their collective success. It is true! Collaboration is the key to our competitiveness!
