Erie's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem is Beginning to Take Shape ... Remembering to Lead with Diversity
Diversity is a key issue in areas with large networks of venture capital. In short, women and minorities are underrepresented, yet 'venture-backed startups with at least one female founder outperformed all-male teams by 63 percent.' Recently, Venture Capitalists from all over the United States, met with President Obama and released a letter stating the industry's commitment to diversity

It is encouraging that within Erie many of the initiatives underway to encourage entrepreneurship are demonstrating diversity in leadership, in funding, and in lowering the barriers of entry for all entrepreneurs to have access to the resources they need.
