Slow Roll Bike Tour 2.0!

We had a great time at our June slow roll! Come out and join bike enthusiasts and local residents in the Union Park Community as we take another slow roll on Saturday, August 3rd from 10:30-1:30pm. Our roll will begin at the Merriam Park Rec Center (2000 St. Anthony Ave), and will stop at Aldine Park, Groveland Park, and then Izzy's for ice cream! 

The UPDC Slow Stroll Bike Tour 2.0 is in partnership with the Mac-Groveland District Council.

National Night Out

St. Paul's National Night Out is on Tuesday, August 6th 2019! 

Come out to get to know your neighbors & meet your local police, and have fun! This year, UPDC is collaborating with The Vintage to host a joint event.

Want to host an event on your block? It's easy, free, and fun! Decide if you'd like to do a potluck, an ice cream social etc. All the forms you need can be found at www.stpaul.gov/nno.

Come out to purchase fresh produce and treats from your local vendors! Bon Appetit and Macalester are hosting a special farmer's market coming up on August 15th that is showcasing some of the local farmers that distribute to Macalester's Cafe Mac.

The event will be Thursday, August 15th from 3-6pm in the Visitor Parking to on Macalester Street.

Make sure you are recycling smart this Summer! 

Saint Paul and Minneapolis are partnering on an educational campaign to help reduce contamination in recycling. Watch for these ads around the city and on social media, and be sure to share with your friends, family and neighbors to spread the word.

St. Thomas' FarmStand Fridays!


The student-run Farmers’ Market is back every Friday through August. Come out and support students who grow pesticide-free vegetables in the Stewardship Garden on south campus– peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, potatoes and more!

Little Africa 2019: Weekend Parade and Festival!



This year, Little Africa will feature the very first African Parade in North America! Come out on August 3rd for a parade, and again on August 4th for music, food, dancing, art, and a petting zoo!

For the 38th year, St. Thomas is inviting neighbors to campus for food, fun and camaraderie–plus ice cream and bluegrass music. Join St. Thomas on Thursday, August 15, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Monahan Plaza. Minnesota State Fair will Feature Mental Health Awareness Day on August 26


For the second straight year the MN State Fair will highlight Mental Health Awareness. Visitors can learn about mental health resources and wellness through games and activities as well as inspiring stage acts including music, youth performances, yoga, and more. More than 50 awareness-raising activities, many of them geared for children and teens, will be offered. 
 
Featured guests will include Minneapolis hip-hop and spoken word artist Desdamona, KARE11 multimedia journalist Bryan Piatt, the Fidgety Fairytales performers, Minnesota musician Mark Mallman, The Renovators, and others. The event is free with fair admission and will be held Monday, August 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Dan Patch Park located next to the Grandstand.
 
The State Fair provides a unique opportunity to educate a large and diverse group of people about mental health issues - something that touches almost every family in some way. Led by the MN State Advisory Council on Mental Health & Subcommittee on Children's Mental Health and NAMI Minnesota, over 50 health organizations will participate in the day's activities.
