Let Your Life Speak

Care Enough to Make a Difference
I just had the pleasure of watching Cleo Wade's TED talk, Want to change the world? Start with being brave enough to care. Whoa! I really wasn't expecting her to take it to this level. She dove deep into "being the change you want to see". This was an absolutely beautiful, inspiring, and motivating speech, and it's only 11 minutes. Treat yourself.

The Intelligence of Things
In the excellent "Shots of Awe" video, Jason Silva shares his thoughts on the Internet of Things, or IoT. However, he prefers to refer to it as the Intelligence of Things (3 min). I love his perspective on IoT. As a humanitarian, I am always very cautious with technology and slow to embrace it. But the more I learn, the more I realize that today's emerging technology has the ability to afford humanity more time, more creativity, more human connection, and more awe than what I'd ever imagined.

Unilever Stands up to Google and Facebook
I know enough to understand that the majority of our social maladies are often caused and more often perpetuated by the exploitation of big corporations. Many of them are in the "too big to fail" category, which is even more frustrating. But sometimes those corporations are also the best ones to turn the tables. Check out this ultimatum from one of the world's largest brands; Unilever to Facebook and Google: Clean up 'swamp' or we'll pull ads. Now, this is the kind of effort that can transform the way we do business in a blink of an eye. Go Unilever!
"We cannot overcome what we ignore."
