It’s December! Can you believe it? 

Me, neither! But if  your looking for some immediate sanity and self-soothing, read no further. Just scroll straight to the last part of this newsletter because I've linked you to a 'must have'.    

Like I was about to say... This can be such an interesting time of year in regards to our health and wellbeing. As much as we want to wind down for the holidays, there is often so much to wind up before we do! 

But how do we stay sharp, focused and productive to get it all done and enjoy ourselves in the process? While balance certainly plays a part, it is often our mindset and health that play a major role.

So to help you prepare for the busy season, in this issue I thought I would talk about how to be more calm, collected and focused and share my top tips to create a sharper mind and body.

Six brain boosting foods to eat more of


1.    Whole grains – They are low GI and will keep your energy consistent throughout the day

2.    Oily fish – Will give you EPA and DHA the omega-3 fats we need to boost our brain power 

3.    Berries – Blueberries are full of antioxidants and a study by Tufts University suggests blueberries may be effective in improving or delaying short-term memory loss

4.    Broccoli – A great source of vitamin K that is proven to increase cognitive function

5.    Walnuts – High in DHA omega-3, walnuts are great snacks for boosting your brain power 

6.    Tumeric – It has been said that turmeric can prevent or delay symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease, pretty good incentive to spice things up!

For most of us this time of the year is a chance to rejuvenate.  With the sun warmer, the days longer and colour blooming all around us, we can almost feel the holiday spirit move in us.
