Six productivity boosts to get more done

Do you ever find yourself running around so much that by the end of the day you feel like you’ve accomplished nothing? Don’t worry; we’ve all been there.

But this ‘busyness’ is one of the biggest barriers to productivity. When you are productive you are purposeful and methodical in what you do; you aren’t racing to put out fires or trying to multitask to-dos.

So how do you get back in control of your schedule and accomplish more in the process? Here are six productivity boosts to help you get more done.  Read more…

The Top Five Productivity Killers

According to a 2015 survey by CareerBuilder the following are the top five productivity killers at work:
1.    Mobile phones/texting
2.    Internet
3.    Gossip
4.    Social media
5.    Email

Productivity facts that may surprise you!

•    Multitasking leads to as much as a 40% drop in productivity, increased stress, and a 10% drop in IQ (Bergman, 2010)
•    Tuesday is the most productive day of the week
•    Getting between 7-9 hours sleep each night can boost your productivity by up to 20%
•    In a study done by the California Energy Commission, they found workers who sat near a window performed better, processing calls 6%-12% faster and performing 10%-25% better on tests that involved mental function and memory recall
