Everyone has been talking about ‘Sweet Sixteen’ (2016) and the year it’s going to be. Chances are you’ve given some thought about the goals and growth you are going to achieve over the next 12 months, and you may have already taken some action to make this a reality – good on you!  

Though as we head into February a funny thing can start to happen. Motivation fades and we start to get back into the usual pattern of life. So right now you have a choice. You can choose to do what you have always done or you can choose to set your intentions and make this year a year to be proud of.

Setting Your Intentions For The Year 

Intentions are the starting point of every achievement. As Wayne Dyer says, “The secret to changing your life is in your intentions. Wishing, hoping and goal setting cannot accomplish change without intention. What is needed is a shift from the inert energy of wanting to the active energy of doing and intention.”

Intentions are the desires, goals and passions you are dedicated to achieving. They help you to move from thinking you will achieve it to knowing you will achieve it.

It's time to stop holding yourself back and time to really rock your life. Five Tips to Change and Form Habits

Have some grand goals for 2016? In the words of Aristotle, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”  Here are five tips to get your new habits to stick!

1.    Start simple - Small changes done over time are a lot easier to manage than trying to change your life in a day, so start small and keep it simple
2.    Commit to 30 days – Instead of thinking about a year long commitment that can be overwhelming to start, commit to forming or changing one habit for 30 days
3.    Take action daily - consistency is key when forming habits so make sure you take daily action in order to build it into your routine
4.    Be kind to yourself - If you slip up acknowledge it, dust yourself off and start again, dwelling on it will not serve you well
5.    Get an accountability partner or mentor - find an encourager or better yet someone who has achieved what you want to achieve to mentor you. We all need a little help and encouragement!
