PGPB Guru Weekly

Where parents plan playdates, straight to your inbox!

This week on PGPB Guru, we launched our new virtual book club, Mom's Book Nook, featured 3 easy to make Valentine wreaths, how to transition to no more naps, shared a great DIY gift for hubby: 75+ dates for a date night jar (including free printable template!), more Valentine art with Relief Paintings, a color magic activity to share with the book Mouse Paint, and the last post in our WAHM series.
The WAHM - Part 4
This week, we feature a sewist and fitness coach, an author and  parenting coach, and an ESL tutor.  Despite the diversity of jobs, many articulate a consistent message: working from home not only can generate income, it provides a creative outlet, flexibility, and life balance (although that takes practice even from home!).  Oh, and an added bonus – NO commute!  Read more>>>
3 Easy Valentine Wreaths
Big M’s paper plate wreaths are beginning to become a fixture in our kitchen.  As soon as we remove one at the end of one holiday season, she asks to make another one for the next!  So far for Valentine’s Day, we have made 3 easy Valentine wreaths… two paper plate based varieties by Big M and one big one by me for the front door! Color Magic with Mouse Paint
Do your kids pick the same book at the library over and over?  One of our recurring favorites is Mouse Paint by Ellen Walsh Stoll.  My mom, a multi-decade kindergarten teacher, gave us an amazing activity to do with the book – create color magic with play dough, strengthening our fine motor skills at the same time! Mom's Book Nook - A Virtual Book Club
How many of you have participated in a book club before?  Weren’t they the best?!?  Post kids, my book club sadly seems to have gone the way of happy hours, evening yoga classes and designer shoes and hand bags… extinct.  Well, I’m here to revive your book club, at least virtually.  Welcome to the PGPB Guru Mom’s Book Nook – A Virtual Book Club for busy moms, who still crave great reads, and friendly book banter.  Read more>>>
Valentine Relief Paintings

One thing crafting with young toddlers has taught me… the more you plan a project, the more likely they will decide to create something wholly and entirely different!  These Valentine Relief Paintings emerged last year out of a planned shaving cream art project that went totally awry.  And if there’s one thing Big M has taught me, her creativity and uninhibited imagination at 3, vastly exceeds my own.
