Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! And Happy Father's Day weekend to all our fathers out there. Summer is definitely in full swing here. The days are hotter, being pregnant is getting less fun, but we are spending lots of time outdoors, and this week, lots of time on fun, patriotic, red, white & blue activities we will be sharing with you! You can keep up with all our
Summer posts here!
Saturday, I shared our favorite, go-to summer activity...
Billions of Bubbles! Big M is so excited to be able to finally blow them herself, she wants to do it EVERY. DAY! I shared our favorite DIY bubble recipe, and a host of our favorite bubble blowing tools. This is one of the cheapest, easiest activities you can do pretty much three seasons a year, and it entertains kids from birth to... well, I still love bubbles!
On Tuesday, I shared a generational, family-favorite recipe...
King Ranch Chicken Casserole. While my Texas followers are likely familiar with this regional favorite, my local friends know it as 'that awesome Mexican lasagna you bring us when we have a new baby!' This is my Dad, my husband and my father-in-law's favorite thing I make - and I've reduced much of the labor required (my mom used to boil a whole chicken, pick it from the bone, save the stock, etc), without skimping on any of the taste!
Wednesday was one of those days... you know the ones: where your kids wake up crying, and the day just goes down hill from there. As mush a reminder to myself, as for all of you, I put together the
15 Ways to Remove the Grump From Your Day. All simple, common since activities to change the mood of the day, and save you from turning to wine before breakfast! My personal favorite... #1 Dance Party!
Thursday I shared the first of several July 4th activities to come -
July 4th Stained Glass. The girls and I made red, white & blue stained glass mosaics, adorned with stars in different media. Simple materials, easy set-up, and little to no clean-up: my favorite kind of project!
As always,
We Love Weekends is out today - this week features great activities, both active and creative, to reinforce the alphabet with your kids, including letter recognition, sounds and formation. And be sure to come back to see all the new content that will be linked up this weekend!
