Where parents plan playdates, straight to your inbox!

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!  We had our official last day of preschool yesterday... I'm going to miss a few mornings a week of only having one child, but looking forward to having lots of summer fun with both the Ms!  You can keep up with all our Summer posts here!

Saturday, I shared an activity the girls are still talking about... an Invitation to Paint: Cardboard Box Castles.  Taking messy play into the great outdoors, is really freeing - both for you, from the anxiety and stress of worrying about mess indoors and for the kids, who can pretty much let their creativity shine!  See how I set up our outdoor paint station and all the fun the girls had!

On Tuesday, I revealed my latest DIY project - a Weekly Magnet Calendar for Big M.  She's become more interested in days of the week and dates, and this has proven the perfect prop to help her crystallize what previously was just an abstract concept of dates and times.  We check it out every night before bed, so she knows just what the next day has in store!

Last Monday was the first Monday of the month - I revealed our Mom's Book Nook book for June, and talked all about last month's book, Inside the O'Briens, by Lisa Genova.  I'd love to meet some of my fellow readers, so drop me a comment on the page, or join in our monthly Twitter Party - 1st Mondays at 8PM ET.  Just follow me on Twitter @PGPBMeghan and the #BookNook to join in the discussion.

Tuesday, I shared 10 Screen-Free Ways to Entertain your Kids Out to Eat.  Confession: while I have definitely handed over my phone to keep a tantrum at bay, it is our tool of last resort.  It is somewhat of a pet peeve of mine to see a family at dinner all staring at their phones, missing out on the opportunity to spend quality time with each other.  Make meal-times screen free, while still entertaining the kids, with these fun tips.

In preparation for Father's Day this month, Wednesday I shared 3 DIY Photo Keepsake Gifts for Father's Day!  These are great memory keepers, and far more appreciated than another tie or golf shirt.  What special gift are you planning for the fathers in your life?

Thursday, I featured a blast from the past - one of my favorite summer fun activities with Big M... Swatter Mural Art. (Notice a theme to our summer play - get messy in the great outdoors?!?!).  With a few Dollar Store fly swatters, a roll of craft paper and paint, you can keep a munckin occupied for hours!

As always, We Love Weekends is out today - don't miss our great features from last week, all centered around a 'Schools Out for the Summer' theme, as well as all the great posts that will be added all weekend!  And if you haven't checked it out yet, don't miss my fun Instagram campaign, supporting the need to let our kids get out and play!  Follow me and check out #kidsneedplay to catch all the great facts and child's play quotes I'll be sharing daily!  I also often share sneak peeks of our daily activities.

Finally, my newest feature - Featured Friend of the Week!  This week, I am featuring Ann at Little Worlds, Big Adventures.  She defines herself as a creative enthusiast, which is an understatement to say the least!  Everything she shares is unique, and one of a kind, with an emphasis on 'small world play,' and makes me wish I could be a kid at her house!  She also sells components and play mats for her Little Worlds in her Etsy shop. Two of my favorite posts from Ann include DIY Princess Dress-Up Braid Tutorial and her Inventor's Box.

Don't miss this week's special offer: 20% off Crayons and Modeling Clay at Crayola when you spend $20!

Happy Friday everyone!
