Holiday Closure
The Library will close early on Thursday, December 23 at 6p.

The Library will be closed Friday, December 24 & Saturday, December 25.

We will re-open to the public on Monday, December 27 at 9:30a.
Winter Activity Boxes
Get your very own library version of those trendy subscription boxes right here at the Rowlett Public Library! Register online on the library’s website by December 18 to have one put aside for you. Only 1 per person. Boxes will be available for pick-up from December 6-18. Boxes unclaimed by December 18 will be given to those on the waitlist while supplies last.

Adult Programs
Join us for a FREE Medicare educational meeting on Friday, December 3 and December 17, at 10a to better understand topics like: 
  • How and when do I enroll in Medicare?
  • What are the health plans and coverage choices?
  • Do I qualify for extra help with premiums?
Meet local author Larry Yoakum III to learn about Krampusnacht on Saturday, December 4 from 11:00a to 12:00p.

Krampus Night (Krampusnacht) is the night of December 5 when Krampus pays a visit to homes and businesses alike, looking to punish naughty children. Copies of his book, Krampusnacht: Folklore Series Book 4, will be available.

Is your family looking to plan a Disney trip in the near future? Confused on where to start? Join us on Thursday, December 9 at 6:30p as we teach you tips and tricks to make your next Disney trip more magical.

This is an adult program. No childcare will be provided.

Children & Teen Programs
Winter Reading is here! Readers of all ages can earn book tags by reading for 20 minutes a day. Prizes may be claimed after 10 consecutive days of reading in a row.

Ring in the new year at noon on December 31.The festivities begin at 11:00 am where we will have a dance party, make crafts, and play games. Countdown and balloon drop will be at noon!
Rhythm & Rhyme Storytime: A 20-minute lapsit storytime featuring developmentally appropriate board books, rhymes, and movement encouraging early literacy for infants 0-18 months. If children can walk steadily, then we suggest Family Storytime. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. 

Family Storytime: For children of all ages who can actively engage. This interactive storytime with books, music, and movement is a high engagement storytime that instills the love of literacy and the Library at an early age. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. Thursday is a repeat of Wednesday’s program. 
Be-Tweens: Participants explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with hands-on activities and crafts. This program is for school age students 10-12. 

WOW: Participants explore a variety of subjects and interests to stimulate their minds.  This program is for school age students 13-18.
Rovers: Participants explore the wide world through reading, STEM, and innovation. This program is for school age students 6-9.
