Help us kick off Summer Reading and celebrate this year's theme, Oceans of Possibilities, on Saturday, June 11 @ 11:00 am. Enjoy music, games, Kona Ice, and a live mermaid! Captain's Logs to track your reading and activities will also be available for pick-up.

Millions of pounds of trash are dumped in our oceans each year, causing damage to the seas and ocean life. Let's change that by taking what could wash up on the beach and turning it into art on
Saturday, June 25 @ 11:00 am.
Maker Monday is an in-person craft program for adults every 2nd & 4th Monday night @ 6:30 pm. Adults are invited to learn something new, share with others, seek crafting advice, and meet other makers. Materials are provided free of charge. Ages 14 and up welcome.

Learn what it takes to succeed at hunting down your ancestry or that of friends in part 1 of the genealogy workshop on Saturday, June 18 @ 2:00 pm and part 2 on Saturday, June 25 @ 2:00 pm.
This is a two-part workshop that requires both halves to complete the program.
Join us this third Thursday, June 16 @ 6:30 pm, for trivia in the great outdoors at the Rowlett Farmers Market! Put your knowledge to the test in teams or as a single player. We use Kahoot! to play.
Want to get more involved in your library? Come to a Friends of the Library meeting on Tuesday, June 21 @ 6:30 pm. Membership is not required in order to attend the meetings.

Family Storytime: For children of all ages who can actively engage on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays @ 10:00 am & 11:00 am. This interactive storytime with books, music, and movement is a high engagement storytime that instills the love of literacy and the Library at an early age. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. Wednesday and Thursday are a repeat of Tuesday’s program.

June 28-30: Digging in the Dirt
Participants will explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with hands-on activities and crafts on Tuesdays @ 2:00 pm. This program is for kids ages 10-12.

June 21: Sea Monsters
June 28: Saving Our Seas
Participants explore the wide world through reading, STEM, and innovation. This program is for kids ages 6-9 on Thursdays @ 2:00 pm.

June 16: Paper Boats
June 23: Sea Creatures
June 30: Ocean in a Bottle
Explore exciting tech in these 4-day workshops from Monday through Thursday @ 4:00 pm. Registration and attendance are required for all 4 days to properly complete and understand the project.

June 27-30: 3D Printing
Explore the world of the Kraken with other teens on
Wednesday, June 22 @ 4:00 pm.
Teen Takeover: Teens can come hang out, eat pizza, and watch a movie related to a book on Saturday, June 18 @ 11:00 am. We will discuss the book and the movie (love or hate) in open-minded discussion. This month we will read Rise of the Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste and watch Underwater [PG-13].
