...bringing you monthly updates about the People's Park

It's Christmas!!

"The smell of pine boughs fills the air,
Pretty silver bells tinkle everywhere.
Sparkling snow covers the ground,
Christmas spirit is all around."

The weather has been so lovely and frosty; perfect weather for walking around Vicky Park and getting some fresh winter air. We hope you've been enjoying the park as much as we have.

After a hectic week of Halloween events, November slowed down slightly in preparation for our December events this month.

Tomorrow our Community Park Rangers are making natural festive decorations in the Hub Building and are looking forward to seeing you all there! With the absence of Winterville this year, Vicky Park will be hosting a small Family Festive Day on Saturday 10 December (see below) with free children's rides, Santa's Grotto, live music and arts and crafts. This year we are also excited to welcome 'The Panto Bus' to Victoria Park as they present Dick Whittington. We received lots of calls and emails and booked a staggering 150 places in six hours! We are certain, as with all our events, it will be resounding success with all our families. Please see a full list of our events below.

As I write, the park rangers are decorating our Christmas Tree and the Hub Building with lights, glitter and tinsel whilst listening to some festive tunes.  We're getting into the festive spirit and invite you to join us at one of our events soon!

Stay warm! :D

Volunteers @ Vicky Park
A massive thank you to Yasmine and Meg from Volunteering Matters who have spent the last six Wednesdays volunteering at Vicky Park as part of their school's enrichment programme. They have both been working with our Gardening team and have been answering general enquiries at the Hub Building reception. A fantastic job all round and we wish you the best of luck in your future careers!

Ongoing thanks to Paul from Hackney Step Up Volunteers who comes to Victoria Park twice a week as a volunteer ranger. We all appreciate your time and efforts!

A huge thank you to Gordie, Sam and Dave T at Pines and Needles for their donation of a Christmas Tree for our Christmas Community Events! We appreciate it very much! (see picture above).

We wouldn't be the 'People's Park' without the help of the people!
