...bringing you monthly updates about the People's Park

The summer came and went so quickly - but what a lovely time of year to visit Vicky Park with all the autumn leaves and frosty weather!

Oh.....and did we mention.....we are thrilled to announce that...

We WON a Silver Guilt Medal in the Britain in Bloom Awards 2016/17.

We WON a Gold Award in the London in Bloom Awards 2016/17 (Large Parks).

WON the Green Flag People's Choice Award as one of the Nation's Favourite Parks 2016/17.

A massive thank you to everyone who voted for us - it is a great accolade to retain this title for the forth time!!

The weather was on our side last week as we hosted an amazing week of Halloween events.  An incredible 160+ people came to carve Pumpkins with us at the beginning of the week! Children made spooky masks, ghastly treat or treat bags and blood curdling bunting at our Creepy Crafts event on Tuesday.  On Thursday, Terry Lyle (Friends of TH Cemetery Park) led an impressive Spooky Seeds and Tree Fruit Walk and our Parks After Dark Event on Friday was a huge success pulling in nearly 150 children and their parents for a scary walk around the park at night. Our Big Draw event, The Junk Monster invades Vicky Park was a terrific end to the week and parents and their children came together to create some impressive Victoria Park structures from cardboard and junk. All in all - a very enjoyable and rewarding week!

This month slows down slightly in preparation for our Christmas events (see link below to our new Autumn/Winter brochure).

We are looking forward you seeing you all at one of our events soon.

Stay warm!

Corporate Volunteers @ Vicky Park
20 October - A massive thank you to the Lloyds of London Graduates who spent the day refurbishing the park railings on the night walk, West Park. The grads did an amazing job of sanding and removing chipped paint from the railings before applying a weather proof primer ready for glossing next Spring. A brilliant job all round!
We wouldn't be the 'People's Park' without the help of the people!
