Would you like to connect to others interested in civic tech from around the world? And work together to decide how to use a dedicated grant to produce solutions to shared challenges?
At our fifth online TICTeC Civic Tech Surgery, we discussed the opportunities and challenges in using civic tech to drive impactful societal change - encouraging people to alter and coordinate their behaviour in ways that can cause significant changes in society. We're now convening a working group to commission a piece of work to help solve these challenges. Applications close on 31st August 2022.
On 8th September we'll be discussing Civic tech in hostile environments – how can we thrive in challenging contexts? Globally, the civic tech community faces challenges from working in hostile environment, from facing everyday government resistance to operating in conflict and post-conflict societies. In this surgery, we will examine some of the common challenges and how we can support each other in solving them.
TICTeC Civic Tech Surgeries are part of mySociety's TICTeC Labs programme, which aims to address the biggest issues facing the civic tech/digital democracy sector, and enhance the effectiveness and potential impact of civic tech projects.
This programme is made possible thanks to support from the National Endowment for Democracy.
