11:00 AM Meeting for Worship

11:00 AM A Special Celebration....Children stay in worship for first 20 minutes then are invited to a Christmas Celebration upstairs in the Friendship Room hosted by CRE.

It is a Newtown Meeting tradition to have the children present a Christmas program of their own design the Sunday before Christmas.
For this reason, we have adjusted our schedule

9:45am Meeting for Worship

11am Children’s Christmas Program

Come experience a Meeting for Learning. Nancy Martin and our young friends will demonstrate the essence of the new CRE curriculum, Faith and Play, and their re-telling of the Christmas story. Our older young friends will be joining them on the facing bench. Queries will be considered. Debbie Watts, will once again bring us beautiful music.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
7-7:30 PM
followed by the presentation of the Hicks prints.
Care & Council provide refreshments following the service and program.
Feel free to bring a sweet to share.

Homecoming

It is a Newtown Meeting tradition that on Christmas Eve, each young person in the meeting community at age twenty-one receives a framed replica of one of Edward Hicks paintings of The Peaceable Kingdom inscribed “in recognition of your being a part of our own ‘peaceable kingdom’ and in celebration of your attaining your majority as an adult member of the Newtown Friends Meeting community.” This year there will be eight recipients of the prints: Mariel Carter, Maddie Umstead, Lizzie Elliott, Mallory Cagle, Zach Somogi, Emily Hulihan, Conrad Stebbins and Owen Buxton.
