Discomfort, injury & trauma with its accompanying anxiety has us seeking solutions at the site of the problem.  In these classes, you'll discover that the resolution of your pain or anxiety can be accomplished by harnessing the powerful neuroplasticity in the mind/brain,  & displacing faulty or no-longer useful habits that have been ’wired’ over a lifespan.  You are inherently endowed with the ability for organic learning at any age and particularly potent  learning occurs, when given a supportive environment that encourages neuroplasticity, novelty & pleasure. 
Patricia will guide you in movement explorations designed to wake you up to learning... tapping into your remarkable self-healing capacity that release conditioned patterns of moving, thinking, feeling, & acting.   Greater pleasure, release from chronic pain, creative self-expression and improved cognitive function are likely outcomes. This is a movement based approach in which   "aware-ed" movement leads to unexpected benefits.  Whatever your condition or level of fitness, you'll experience deeper embodiment, balance, & joy in movement.

WHAT TO BRING:
A personal large size mat for movement.  Dress in layers for warmth & wear loose, roomy clothing. Women; wear an exercise bra without hooks or snaps.  Yoga sticky mats are too narrow for this kind of movement exploration—-they are fine for placing underneath a larger quilt, comforter, or moving blanket.

I have frequent back pain from a history with fibromyalgia, disc herniations in my lower back & neck, and poor posture.  Before my Feldenkrais session with Patricia, I had usual neck pains and stiff shoulder muscles particularly after sitting long hours during social gatherings with my friends. After just one session with her, I immediately felt lighter in my body as if my body weight decreased in less than an hour. I also felt relaxed and at the same time energetic while I was going out of her studio. Some minor pains which were always there in my body seemed to be gone! In the following days, I sensed stronger cues from my body to hold my neck and hip in such a way to correct my posture when I'm standing or sitting. The positive result I gained from only one Feldenkrais class with Patricia means less pain for me.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 10 years ago at the age of 45.  I am a senior executive at an international manufacturing company and travel extensively.  Pati has demonstrated an amazing ability to “center in” on the needs of my body in any given session.  Her commitment and passion are evident as she works to eliminate what she calls “parasitic resistance” to my body’s natural movements.  While Feldenkrais may not cure my disease, it has certainly improved my quality of life.  I am truly thankful to Pati!
