President's Message - April 2018

By Denny Wright
As I write this article, I am on a plane heading home from a three day national conference held in Washington DC sponsored by a major pharmacy benefit manager that our TPA works with.

This conference was attended by 1200 people representing 500 payers consisting of TPAs, health insurance carriers, and large national employers that account for approximately 40% of all individuals covered by private sector health insurance plans in this country.

HUPAC Preparing for Mid-Term Madness

By David Berman, HUPAC Chair
David Berman with Rep. Susan BrooksHUPAC is getting ready to launch its first Nationwide Telethon, “MID-TERM MADNESS”, to bring new contributors to our PAC during this crucial mid-term election year. The telethon will occur over a
two-week period between April 16 & April 30.

HUPAC’s goal is to raise $50,000 through the telethon. The failure of Congress to include any Health Insurance Market-Stabilization package in the recent Omnibus Bill shows that Congress still does not “GET-IT” & we have more work to do in educating Members of Congress on the importance of
stabilizing the Health Insurance Markets. With the Mid-Term Elections around the corner, we need to back & support Candidates who “GET-IT”. HUPAC is a significant resource to do just that & the larger we grow HUPAC, the larger our VOICE!

Please be prepared to receive our calls & be prepared to “GIVE TIL IT FEELS GOOD! For those current Contributors, THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS! We will contact you to see if you can con-tribute a little more! For those Non-Contributors, please be prepared to take my call & be prepared to become a Contributor!
