Let us know if you enjoy this new email format for sharing the amazing stories of how God is working in Cuba -- and using DTI in the process.
God continues to work the way we we least expect — and this 8th Trip to Cuba was no exception! Over 20 churches from 13 different denominations attended the five-day workshop designed to “Equip the Saints.” (Eph.4:11) Frank & Jeannette Meitz and Pablo & Martha Garcia want to share a few of the amazing stories and testimonies, along with a few pictures.
This pastor from the last conference is discipling up to 70 people with ONE DTI manual! He told us: "The vision of our church is planting churches. The discipleship training helps me to do that. It is so simple and it's so easy and practical which means that anybody can disciple another believer".
After the May conference he discipled key leaders, who are now discipling the members of their cell groups (similar to a home group). Cell groups then develop... Read more

God continues to raise up experienced Cuban team partners (shown here with Frank & Jeannette Meitz).
They facilitated the breakout groups and testified how God is using the DTI materials to change people's lives and grow their churches. Click here to read the stories.
Eliezer (one of our trainers) shared: "I had been a pastor for 18 years and didn't think we needed DTI."
Now, four years later, he tells people, "There are many Christians, but few disciples. When we started with DTI, we said, 'We know this stuff, but we were not practicing it in our own lives.' Now I am teaching old Christians, new Christians, even people who don’t know Christ." Read more
"Discipleship has become one of the forming programs for the eastern section of the island," related Paneque, our in-country organizer.
He is discipling three men, including one pastor with character deficiencies. After discipling his family, Paneque's wife Dulenia ... Read more about Paneque and his family's story.

This young man is now leading the youth in their church, and beginning to ... Read more
One pastor/attendee shared that his greatest lesson was "what I have to do and how I have to live out this discipleship."
He continued, "This discipleship is breaking institutional barriers of denominations. We are not proclaiming a denomination.... we are proclaiming that Jesus Christ lives, heals and saves!" Read the rest of his testimony here
Participating in Ministry with Pablo & Martha Garcia, missionaries to Ensenada, Mexico, has been a great blessing..
Whether being "tourists" (in the back of a '56 Ford!), or preaching, or translating (for us Gringos) or facilitating, this wonderful couple gives all of themselves to building the Kingdom of God. For more pictures of our adventures in Camagüey, click here
The Cuban DTI Trainers are planning to put on their own mini-conference in July 2015 in Santiago, where we were three years ago. There were many people who wanted to attend but space prevented them. This is an exciting first venture for our Cuban team to go “solo”! Pray for them.
The next “Equipping the Saints” conference is tentatively planned for November, 2015, in Bayamo, as there are many pastors and church leaders asking for their own conference. Stay tuned for future newsletters and check our web site www.disciplers.org often for the many ways God is being glorified through the DTI ministry.
One wonderful story: A woman came to the church on the second day for her Bible study, not knowing anything about the conference. She was mistakenly welcomed, given a DTI manual and assigned to a small group. She had been praying that God would train her to help new believers but her church did not have any process to do that. Suddenly, God answered her prayers! She was so excited and continued to come to the conference and is now going to start discipling.
One pastor whose wife died just three months earlier, lovingly cared for his young daughter while attending the conference.
We do several skits and analogies with a “baby Christian” — and delighted this little girl by giving her the doll to care for.
Please pray for this pastor and his daughter.
