It’s that time of year for Spring cleaning, make sure you’re informed about our new updates! Jump into March with a fresh start and check out the variety of job opportunities we have available at Eduphoria!

Online Testing Updates - Interactive Items & Scoring

With the recent release of the Match Table Grid interactive item type, we have updated our timeline for developing interactive items. We have also added the ability to add Content Clarifiers to all interactive item types, ensuring students who need these extra supports have them available. We remain dedicated to enhancing your online testing options in Aware.

Please check out our Hot Spot article to see how this interactive item type can be used to create a version of number line questions.

Additionally, we are excited to announce that we have updated the scoring options for test authors to be able to create more appropriate scoring rules for their various question types. In addition to correct/incorrect scoring rules we have added options to score a point per task or a type of partial scoring that grants 0, 1, or 2 points for an item. We will be exploring these new options in a webinar after Spring Break (see below).

Pulling the Pieces Together with Strive Analytics

Earlier this month we released an awesome new Document Summary analysis option for Strive to complement our more comprehensive Detailed Analysis tool.

With Document Summary, school and district appraisers are able to do formative, ongoing checks for what they are capturing in Strive documents, such as Walkthroughs. This can help them determine where to spend their instructional leadership efforts in much the same way that formative student assessment practices inform pedagogical adjustments.

Upcoming Webinar

How Far Can Data Analysis Take You - Align Scoring Rules for Purposeful Assessment Administration

March 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM

This webinar is all about collecting data with intentionality. As educators, we expose our students to a variety of instructional strategies and resources. The same is true for assessments. When we ask students to demonstrate their knowledge in a variety of digital environments we must be informed on how we are able to use the results.

With resources coming from third parties (MAP, iStation), the state (Interims, TFAR), and internal district/campus teams (common assessments, projects, performance tasks), how do we determine which setting is the least restrictive to yield the data we need to inform our instruction and processes? What does it mean to begin with the end in mind when we discuss the analysis of student performance data?

Come engage in this varied assessment conversation as we explore Eduphoria’s scoring options, uses for data, and key considerations to select the appropriate assessment design and delivery method.

Recommended Updates

Individual districts who manage their roster process are recommended to update to the latest version of the Eduphoria Remote Roster Tool (Version 3). The newest version of Eduphoria’s roster tool includes more demographic fields: migrant, homeless, bilingual, ESL status, and LEP levels 3 & 4. These new fields support more sophisticated, in-depth analysis of student performance.

Districts who utilize Plain Paper Scanning are recommended to update to the latest version of the Plain Paper Scanner Application (Version 4.0.2.0).
