GEELONG REGION CROSS COUNTRY

SEASON 2016
Round 8
Burnley Half Marathon & 6km Road Race

Perfect conditions and a strong Geelong presence made for a great morning for GRCC yesterday. There was some really great running for the Burnley Half and there are a number of individual performances that deserve to be highlighted.

Georgina Hagan - New to GRCC in 2016, Georgie is consistently present and impressive. She ran a big PB  - 1:28:21 - and finished second in her age group. She has been key to the improvement we've seen in the Geelong Women in 2016. Well done and thank you Georgina.

Brent Lalor ran 1:12:58 today. How good is that?! Another big PB and a beautifully paced race. Great work Brent.

And Rochelle Brennan - another reason the Geelong Woman have lifted in 2016. Rochelle ran 1:22:53 and came 11th, winning the silver medal for Country competitors. Rochelle seems to excel at every distance and on every terrain. Champion effort.

And finally, great to have both Renee and Brad Fuller don the navy and white for Burnley. The Fullers are the back bone of the club and while work and family commitments mean they can't make every event, their presence is always so positive and appreciated when they do.

And a big thank you to all the runners who went way beyond their comfort zone to complete the Half on Sunday. That selfless commitment to the team helps bring success to the wider group by filling division numbers and definitely deserves to be recognised.
