We Made it to Costa Rica!!!
Thank you for all your prayer.

We arrived to our "casita" (little house) a week ago yesterday at about 1:30 am. We were exhausted after a long day of travel but we saw the Lord's blessing in many ways as we traveled that day. We were very thankful for Southwest who let us check all of our carry-ons for free - we were quite the show going through security with four little kids, six carry-on bags stuffed to the max, Ellie's car seat and a personal bag for each of us :). Now that we have been here a week we have found the essential stores and fruit stands. Betsy has worked hard to make our house feel more like a home. We are within walking distance to a few parks and it has been great to spend time with our teammates when we are not running around trying to get everything we need. Settling into a new country, culture and language will take some time but we are confident God will be gracious to us. God has showed kindness to us in our ability to communicate "well" in the Spanish we already know. Finally, in the midst of getting everything we need we have enjoyed time together as a family.

Upper Left - All four of the kids love the teeter totter
Upper Right - We walked around the campus of the school (Ethan was our photographer and managed to get himself in the photo as well)
Lower Left - We have really enjoyed the fresh fruits and veggies here
Lower Right - Some of the encouraging cards sent along the way with us
 Praises and Prayer Requests
  • Praise - We are here in Costa Rica trying to settle in and prepare for the beginning of language school.
  • Praise - The Lord has been extremely faithful in continuing to provide the best team of partners we could ever hope for.
  • Praise- We have the internet in our house now and a new stove to replace the one that was broken.
  • Prayer Request - That the rest of the student visa process would go smoothly.
  • Prayer Request - For our whole family a supernatural ability to acquire Spanish and adapt to the culture quickly. Pray also that the Lord provides a great language tutor for Betsy.
