When I journeyed to Canada 27 years ago, I held simple wishes in my heart: To live in a society where I can get a fair chance at life, give it my best shot, and be rewarded accordingly. This is exactly what transpired over the years, and is why I love Canada and pose with gratitude before the many sacrifices made by early immigrants to build it.
My husband Adel and I chose Mississauga to start our family and raise our two daughters who are now 17 and 14, and who have only known Mississauga Streetsville to be their home.
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I have spent the past 12 years working for one of the largest global accounting/consulting firms, which is consistently ranked as one of the best work places in Canada as well as globally. Through my career, I have learned to collaborate with local and cross-border teams to serve our clients, with focus on the Ontario manufacturing sector.
Over the past 6 years, I have been involved in serving our local Mississauga community through a number of charities, clubs and organizations, both in board & volunteer capacities in addition to joining the PC Party’s women executive as VP-GTA to promote women’s involvement.
