Re-Opening Plans: A Message from Fr. Michelle
|
|
Dear Friends,
I am please to announce that St. George's is planning to re-open for in-person worship, beginning on Sunday, September 20th.
The Diocese of Toronto has recently published guidelines and protocols for Anglican churches to follow, and will be sending out a final checklist on August 19th. After reviewing the re-opening guidelines, we are confident we will be able to re-open safely with these measures in place. We are currently assessing the worship space and other areas of the building, and will be putting in place proper signage, safety measures, and protocols specific to our facility to ensure the health and safety of parishioners when we do re-open. In the meantime, I will be meeting with the lay leaders to discuss how the re-opening measures will impact the various areas of parish ministry, so that we can find safe ways of embracing our desire to serve.
In an effort to remain as accessible as possible, we also plan to continue live-streaming/recording Sunday morning worship for those who are unable or uncomfortable with worshipping in church in person.
Please bear with us as we work toward putting this plan in place - there are many moving pieces! Once the diocese has released the final checklist, we look forward to sharing with you our finalized re-opening plans.
This comes with my best wishes for your health and safety.
Yours, Michelle +

Wednesday Evenings: Compline & Lectio Divina
|
|
Join us Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm for a short service of Compline and Lectio Divina by Zoom, details on how to join are above. The ancient office of Compline derives its name from a Latin word meaning ‘completion’ (completorium). It is above all a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day. Lectio Divina is way to read holy scripture, which is divided into five steps: reading, meditation, prayer, contemplation, and action. I look forward to seeing you Wednesdays over the summer!
