Legacy Building Community
Legacy was founded on the belief that schools grow communities. Schools thrive when they are in concert with their community...

An example of bringing a community together is our Parent Teacher Organization’s Miner’s Day 5K. The Miner’s Day 5K takes place on September 17th and is a part of the Frederick Miner’s Day festivities, after the run/ walk families are encouraged to attend the Miner’s Day parade and festivities in downtown Frederick. As a school, we want to inspire healthy students, create pride of place, honor the past and bring people together, and the 5K is a direct representation of our values...

...I commend the Legacy PTO for its work to align with our values; values where fundraisers celebrate health rather than sell items. I am impressed with the level of community I see that third week of September with the 5K and the Fund Run. Read full message

Student Attendance Policy
It is important for students to attend school everyday that they are healthy. Our goal is an average daily attendance of 95%. To meet this goal an individual student could be absent up to nine days during the school year. After excessive absences a meeting with the principal to discuss academic, social, and/or emotional progress will be more about Legacy's attendance policy
Also parents, anytime you take your student to the doctor, dentist, orthodontist appointment, etc. during school hours, please bring a note stating your student was seen. Thank you

MyON Updates

September 2016

Legacy Elementary encourages all families and students to use MyON Digital Reader at home as a fun way to read!

Logging In:

The biggest change for students is they must go to the link on the Ceran page to log in - they cannot log in directly to myON. The link on Ceran has been changed to point to our own internal server, where students will log in with his or her district username and password.

Students and families can also access the Ceran home page from the Legacy Elementary Website through the Carousel Stories, AND you can catch up the latest school news!  read more on how to Log In

  • Beautiful Yearbooks:  All yearbooks are gorgeously printed in full color using the highest end print production available.
Important details:
  • Your personalized yearbook only costs $20.00.

Student Safety Update
Parking lot flow
When dropping students off pull ahead to the farthest spot available and let them out along the curb, students cross at crosswalks, cars may park on both sides of the street to the south of the school facing east.

The Town of Frederick enforces standard traffic laws. As a reminder: No parking on the east side of Eagle Blvd, U-turns are not permitted on Eagle Blvd, observe all posted signs.

Strategies that help: set a pick up spot, have children walk with friends to a pick up location in Eagle Valley, utilize bus service, coordinate with a neighbor to take turns walking with groups, be patient and model behavior that we expect from our children.

Thank you to all those who have worked to increase safety during this time. There has been improvement! Over a 6 day period traffic flow in the front pick-up loop averaged 8.5 minutes from bell to traffic flowing smoothly. The shortest time being 6 minutes 40 seconds on August 31 and the longest wait was 10 minutes and 41 seconds.

Safety Reminder:
    *Use sidewalks and crosswalks
*Do not cross through the bus loop

Be kind and patient with one another in the parking lot. We all have the same goal - getting students safely to & from home.
