It's a New Year! - could you do with some early help? :-)
Whilst 1 Jan may now seem such a long time ago, for many of us February is the month that we actually realise that another year has commenced and get used to writing 2016 when we date things!
How are your New Year’s resolutions working out? How are your relationships going? ... Read more
Kids project planning takes off!
With Viv Batt, our new Project Manager for our Peacemaking for Kids Project now on board, work has already begun on planning how with your help we can develop the best biblical peacemaking material for kids in the world and help the world's kids be peacemakers in their families and world!
Viv and National Director Bruce met for two full days last week to begin scoping the project, planning for stakeholder engagement, a promotional video, course structure, plus much more.
If you or your organisation is interested in or being being involved in this amazingly ambitious "kids project" - whose aim is to change the world - then please tell us more here...
Some great changes at PeaceWise!
We are excited about a new way of doing things here at Peacewise, including...
some great new appointments of people to new roles within the ministry.
a change to how we run (it's called 'governance' for those who like that sort of thing)
So the holidays are over and our routines for life, work and ministry are coming back. So don't forget to re-connect with a PeaceWise hub near you.
If you have never come to a hub before - we would love you to come along. Hub meetings exist to serve and support you as peacemakers!
We know its hard being PeaceWise in the world we live in, so at hubs we want to share with you, pray for you, refresh you and revitalise you to go out and be peacemakers in your family, church and community. Here are the hub dates coming up in the next few months. If you have any questions about hubs please feel free to contact us.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Phil 4:6)
Each month we will invite you to partner us with in prayer for a particular aspect of PeaceWise. This month, we ask that you thank God for the new ministry model we will be using at and new people ministering through PeaceWise. In particular:
his provision of Viv Batt as the Project Manager for the Kids Peacemaking Project and his hand upon the development of the best peacemaking resources for kids;
the new PeaceWise ministry and governance structure and the newly appointed Ministry Co-ordinators to serve and support peacemakers throughout Australia - Bronwynne Greenway in Qld, Helene van Ruth in SA, Jackie East for Hubs and Li Ai Gamble nation wide.
2016 National training - grab an early bird rate now!
Don't forget to register for the PeaceWise National training events nearest you. You can choose to come back as a repeat delegate for half price and get refreshed on peacemaking or better still, invite your Senior Minister and others to come along with you and make 2016 the Year of the Peacemaker!
Early bird and special discounted rates are available but won't last for too long.
The Peacemaker Book (by Ken Sande) is totally worth the read, and re-read to get a taste of what peacemaking is all about. Whether you've been to any of our courses or not, we all need to be constantly reminded about all that peacemaking is and how the gospel of Christ is both the power and the motivation to be peacemakers in real life situations and real life conflicts.
The New Year brings new hope - and often new challenges too! For you personally, our prayer is that this year you will find God helping you to deal with the challenges of your difficult relationships with grace and wisdom. We would love to help you in this journey too, through hubs, training and our online material and resources.
And please, do join with us in prayer as we spend this year beginning this grand adventure to develop the best biblical peacemaking material for kids on the planet - imagine, the world's kids taking the lead as peacemakers!! We can, and so are working even now to make that dream a reality. If you'd like to help make that dream happen, you can donate here - every gift counts.
