Just Say Know

In the second of six conversations in the Let's Talk Community Discussion series for 2021-22, we will explore why, as parents and caregivers, it is important to discuss the facts of drug and alcohol use with our students and create a trusting dialogue to serve as a foundation for the challenging decisions they will face.
Our guest presenter, Jennifer Epstein, is a teacher and health educator in San Francisco. Her curriculum focuses on substance use prevention with an emphasis on saying "know" instead of “no”. She uses student voices, as well as current research, to create informative and relevant learning sessions. Through this conversation you will learn “how to” have conversations based on reliable data to help you and your child navigate the unknowns and information in their rapidly changing environment.
Marin student, Sophia Pillitteri, will share the youth perspective. Sophia is a senior at Archie Williams High School and a member of the Youth Advisory Council.
The discussion will be moderated by Jaclynn Davis who authored the Let's Talk booklets. She received her Masters in Public Health and Social Work. Jackie focuses on adolescent health and youth development through her work with local school districts and teaching at Dominican University.
