HRCap Celebrates the Opening of New York K-Move Center

KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) held a meeting in New York City on Friday February 26, 2016. The primary goal of the meeting was to discuss how to effectively provide guidance to young Koreans seeking overseas job opportunities in the U.S. through the K-Move project. Our CEO Mr. Andrew Sungsoo Kim was invited to join and speak on the panel of leading industry and field experts, and provided meaningful insight on the global job market and career opportunities within the U.S.

‘K-Move’ has been initiated as part of the Creativity Economy Policy by the Korean government, with a mission to boost the number of young talent pursuing opportunities abroad. The movement bridges young Koreans with global enterprises in hopes to build an integrated information network, leverage the private-public network for more job openings, and foster qualified young Koreans into meeting the high demand for talent abroad.

The opening ceremony of the New York K-Move center was officially held on April 15, 2016 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York, and our CEO was also invited to celebrate this milestone event.

The New York K-Move center will partner with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service to provide initial counseling, educational resources, job training and referral information. We believe that the center will meaningfully contribute to the K-Move, and serve as a pivotal one-stop destination for young people looking for jobs.

Employers Looking to Hire May Have a Tough Time Attracting New Talent

Relatively fewer U.S. employees are planning to look for new jobs this year. According to the results of a new American Staffing Association survey, 6 in 10 employed adults express little likelihood of seeking a new job opportunity.

What is truly keeping people in their current roles? We looked into which factors employees value the most about their current jobs. Work-life balance and schedule flexibility ranked higher than pay or wage potential. Interestingly enough, however, wage potential and employee benefits still serve as the most important considerations when making job change considerations.

These findings are all groundbreaking insights to employers, and point to a critical need for change when it comes to retention strategies. Employers need to rethink their retention strategies to ensure they can effectively retain their key players and most valued workers.
