Essential News
As a way to balance community reproductive health and continued federal and state funding challenges, Essential Health Clinic will close three of its clinic locations this summer.  The Essential Health Clinic locations impacted are in Black River Falls, Prairie du Chien and Richland Center.  All clients who are affected by these changes were sent a letter to help them continue receiving needed care.  Community partners in all of our service counties were also alerted to these future changes.  Additionally, messages will be running in upcoming billing statements, and a press release is going out to the media.

Our focus on health and wellness programming in those communities and beyond is not changing.  STD and other testing events with county health departments, education at schools, health fairs and a variety of other outreach efforts will continue. We look forward to continuing our work on behalf of our clients and the community with the help of great partners.

Continuity of client care is Essential Health Clinic’s number one priority.  Clients will be able to receive care at the Prairie du Chien location through July 24, 2018, the Black River Falls location through August 1, 2018 and the Richland Center location through August 8, 2018.

Essential Health Clinic’s providers and other staff will continue to provide high quality care to those clients from Black River Falls, Prairie du Chien and Richland Center but will do so from our locations in La Crosse, Sparta, Viroqua and Whitehall. We invite you to continue to refer patients in need of health care and information to us by calling Essential Health Clinic at 1-800-657-5177.

Our clients depend on Essential Health Clinic for their reproductive health care needs and advocacy, and we rely on community members’ support to make this care and programming we provide possible.  If you feel the services that EHC provides are valuable and would like to help support our remaining clinics, please consider making a donation.

Men's Health Month Recap!

Essential Health Clinic would like to thank our supporters for helping us have a successful Men's Health Week full of food, fun and awareness!

We teamed up with Buffalo Wild Wings in Onalaska from June 17-23 and received 10% of sales whenever Essential Health Clinic was mentioned when ordering lunch, dinner or appetizers!  Thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings and all of you that participated.

Wednesday June 20th we hosted a Wear BLUE day for Men's Health in an effort to raise awareness of making healthy lifestyle choices, ensuring regular annual visits to the doctor, getting educated on heart disease, diabetes, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, starting general health conversations with their male friends, and much more.

On June 21st we held our annual Chicken Q with Pogy's Catering and even though it rained all day we felt the support and served close to 300 dinners. Even the yucky weather couldn't dim our sunshine!

We ended our Men’s Health Week with our first ever Cornhole tournament “Safe Sacks “on Saturday June 23rd at Features Holmen – a great time was had by all!

Family Guided Sexuality
Essential Health Clinic supports you in helping your child understand sexuality. Young people are better able to make healthy sexual decisions and build loving relationships when trusted adults approach their role as sex educators in a positive, affirming way. The Family Guided Sexuality Handbook is a tool for parents or other trusted adults which provides suggestions for talking about healthy sexuality with children of different ages.
This booklet was created by Essential Health Clinic and has information regarding introducing these topics in a way that represents your personal values and family interests.
