Chairman's Corner

During the first quarter of 2018, the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce (BCC) has seen its most new members since our inception.  I’d like to think it’s because of all the hard work our staff and volunteers have put into planning and implementing so far this year. It is also because we live and work in Brookhaven; a vibrant and growing community.
Over the next few months you should see the beginnings of a Restaurant Council which will encourage, promote and attract restaurants to our community. It will be managed by your Chamber and run by the restaurants themselves. We expect great events, fascinating new venues and exceptional offerings. If this is something that interests you, as a Chamber member, we encourage your participation.   Please reach out to your BCC staff.
We are working on a program with the City where we provide new businesses with information on Brookhaven as well as participating Chamber member services and discounts. Stay tuned on that one as we believe this will push business to our BCC members.
”Hats Off” to the City of Brookhaven and to the Cherry Blossom Festival Committee for putting on an outstanding event.  To all of the “Behind the Scenes” volunteers and workers – you are the true heroes!  Let’s not forget the Brookhaven Police and Sanitation Departments.  Thank YOU!!!

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is breaking new ground in Brookhaven. The not-for-profit healthcare system plans to transform more than 70 acres at the intersection of I-85 and North Druid Hills Rd into a major pediatric medical hub. The new campus will include a hospital, the Center for Advanced Pediatrics, Children’s support staff offices and more than 20 acres of greenspace. The location not only serves as a gateway to Brookhaven, it also gives Children’s room to grow and for the next 20 years and beyond.

After comprehensively studying future demand and capacity required to meet Georgia’s pediatric population growth, Children’s saw an opportunity to build a new hospital and campus designed specifically for kids.

The replacement hospital will allow Children’s to deliver better outcomes and inspire a healthy, active community on our campus and beyond. The new campus environment will offer solace, relaxation and inspiration for our patients and serve as an extension of our hospital environment, improving quality of care and enhancing patient experiences while providing access to specialized pediatric healthcare for Georgia’s children and families.

Children's is working with the local community and key government organizations to transform our current campus and the surrounding area with important transportation, pedestrian and environmental investments.

David Tatum, Children’s Chief Public Policy Officer, has been a board member of the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce for two years and is part of a team that is leading efforts to bring the new campus to life.
Children’s believes the North Druid Hills campus will be a catalyst for health and wellness for Children’s patients, families, physicians, staff and the Brookhaven community.
