Meet Our Newest Company Member, Alicia Vossler
Alicia Vossler grew up in Tianjin, China where she began her dance training at the age of four. The dance training she received from the Beijing Dance Academy, DanzCentre in Beijing, and the Beijing Modern Dance Company paved the way for her to explore dance, choreography, and performance opportunities in the United States. During Alicia’s time in the United States, she was given opportunities to dance under the direction of Mrs. Gina Anthony of Greater Dover Dance Academy (GDDA), Mrs. Elizabeth Dimmel of Dramatic Truth Ballet Theatre, Kathy Thibodeaux & Jiri Sebastian Voborsky of Ballet Magnificat, and now Mrs. Darcy Harrington of Georgetown Ballet. Notable GDDA ballets she has participated in have been Cinderella, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and Anastasia. Alicia’s dance training with DanzCentre in Beijing has enabled her to dance variations from Don Quixote, La Bayadère, and The Sound of Music. Aside from her ballet recital appearances, she has also had small dance roles in Beijing International Society’s Oliver!: The Musical (2007), Lancaster Bible College’s Fiddler on the Roof (2015), and Lake Travis Music Theatre’s Peter Pan: The Musical (2017). The extensive dance resume she has acquired has most recently given her the honor to be selected as a featured dance choreographer for Lake Travis Music Theatre’s Peter Pan: The Musical and upcoming Oklahoma!: The Musical (2018). Georgetown Ballet is the second company Alicia has been offered an apprenticeship position with; the first was Dramatic Truth Ballet Theatre.
We look forward to Alicia performing with Georgetown Ballet!
