A Regional Solution
to Our Housing Crisis
In early 2018, the Council of our Regional Metro government directed staff to work with community partners, local officials and the public to develop a potential regional funding measure to create and protect safe and affordable homes across the region. The proposed framework for that measure is now in draft and out for public comment. Its message is clear: working together, we can help a significant number of parents, children, seniors and other members of our community find a stable, affordable place to call home.

The Welcome Home Coalition agrees.

The proposed $518 million funding measure will provide housing for families and those in extremely low poverty.

Passing a regional housing bond will set a precedent for our region -- our leaders and decision-makers are committed to solving our growing housing crisis. Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties each have only about half of the affordable homes they need to meet their community members' needs. We need solutions and we need them now.

Please join us June 7th 2-4 PM at Metro Council, 600 NE Grand Avenue to share public comment and hear the final vote on referring this to our November ballot. Contact us if you would like a House the People button and would like to attend.
