View this email in your browser

Dear <<First Name>>,

22 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 23 "Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, 'Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. You shall say to them: 24 The Lord bless you, and keep you;25 The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.'27 So they shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I then will bless them." Numbers 6:22-27

Sometimes there are gems hidden in the text of seemingly mundane or boring parts of the bible. This is one of the reasons we should read through our bibles once in a while, for we shall glean and capture these treasures. While today's "blessing" is well known by most, it is tucked in the middle of some interesting commands.

The priestly blessing gives us some insight into the heart of our Lord. First of all, it is one of the commands the Lord gives Moses. "Speak to the priests and tell them to bless my people." It was important to speak it out and over the people. Words of blessing and encouragement must be spoken. As parents and brothers and sisters in Christ, we should endeavor to speak blessing over others. Words of encouragement need to be heard regularly if not daily by those we love.

Here are the seven elements of this blessing:

1) We are blessed: To bless is to be benefitted. We are given an edge to prosper.

2) We are kept: We are protected. The word was used of a hedge that surrounded a field to protect it.

3) We have His presence: Face to face relationship is His desire for us.

4) We have His grace:We have His favor.

5) We have His Countenance: We have His forgiveness.

6) We have His peace:

7) We have His name:

The Lord is for us in every way. He wants to bless us for His sake each day. Enjoy it today!

Here is today's reading.
