They say that in those times you feel most like your true self, the universe itself slows down and stops to marvel. In this short series Made By Hand craftsmen and craftswomen talk about their trade, yes, but you'll find that it's their sense of self that really brings artistry to their work. Presented in beautiful video that captures the elegant motion of time standing still. 

Imagine an entire generation of ambitious young people eager to get on with making smart and beautiful things, but sidetracked by a constant voice in their heads
 that may never leave—this siren song in six simple words: There's an app for that. If craftsmanship comes in an intelligent understanding of the tools and materials we choose to use, there's a lesson about apps as a material in a love story here by designer Golden Krishna.

One always runs the risk of taking oneself a bit too seriously when talking about craftsmanship. Luckily there are things like artisanal, hand-made Brooklyn Integers here to keep our heads and hearts in the right place. And by ignoring the Short History and Long Version on the /about page, one can maintain sanity knowing that craftsmanship can indeed be joked about. Though should you choose to run down those rabbit holes, you might find that even single-serving parody sites done well contain all the craftsmanship of what's known on the internet as Serious Business. I don't necessarily recommend it.
