The Commoner is the Library Learning Commons' monthly newsletter. It's delivered to in-boxes across the Chadron State College community and is designed to connect our patrons to LLC activities and events as well as recommend useful academic resources and research strategies through a variety of social media.

The Washington Dinner Party 

Lady Bird and LyndonThomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates, and the Lion of the Senate were at a Washington dinner party discussing the Pacific with The War Reporter. A Black Man in a White Coat joined them after attending the Custer Trials and the conversation moved to The Rift or the War of Two happening down the road a bit....
Technical Services Librarian Pam Newberg is back with her popular creative fiction announcement of new LLC book arrivals. [Read more].
Social Media Highlights

This semester, the LLC librarians have been posting interesting articles to our social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus. 
Some highlights include posts about young students who read to frightened shelter dogs to improve the animals' socialization skills, people getting refunds from Apple because they were overcharged for ebooks between 2010 and 2012, Google search tips, and an Obama nominee for the next Librarian of Congress. 
A New Face in the Night

The LLC is pleased to welcome Cindy Hill to our staff. She began working in mid-February and has assumed part-time night reference and circulation duties. A CSC grad, Cindy is excited to be back on campus. [Read more]. 
A Visit with Career Services

This month, Outreach Librarian Shawn Hartman visited Career Services to learn about the wonderful services offered by this unit. Director Deena Kennell and Office Assistant Janet Hartman assist students and alumni with career exploration, resume assistance, interviewing tips, and internships, among other things. [Read more].

Graves Lectures
