The Commoner: An LLC Bimonthly
The Commoner is the Library Learning Common's bimonthly newsletter. It's delivered to in-boxes across the Chadron State College community and is designed to connect our patrons to LLC activities and events as well as recommend useful academic resources and research strategies through a variety of social media.

Dr. Kurt Kinbacher presented "Life in the Roman Provices: Place, Space, and Indoor Plumbing in Emona (Ljubljana, Slovenia)" as part of the Graves Lecture Series on October 7th.

The lecture packed a full house in the the LLC's new Faculty Multiuse Room (LLC 111). Outreach Librarian, Shawn Hartman, was pleased with the new venue for the lecture series and encourages faculty to make ample use of the space, which features podcast studios, multiuser workspace, and presentation space.  On October 21st, the LLC welcomes Tim Slessor to Graves; Slessor will be presenting "Perceptions - Them and Us - UK and US." Scores and Scores of Scores


Musical scores owned by the Library Learning Commons have a new home. They have been relocated to the Upper Level of the LLC. The scores are on special, slotted shelving which has been affixed to the southeast corner of the LLC--on the wall across from the music print collection. The move makes the score collection more accessible and addresses some the recommendations made during the recent accreditation visit by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). [Read more.]

LLC Establishes Rotating Art Gallery


A new feature at the Library Learning Commons is a rotating art gallery, which is located in the building’s Lower Level. The gallery includes selections from the Fred W. Farrar collection, the Nebraska Sandhills portfolio, and photo-portraits of Nebraska-born psychologists. It's an intriguing collection of black-and-white and sepia-tone photos on loan from the Sandoz Center for the 2014-2015 academic year. The gallery is open to the public during the LLC's normal hours of operations. [Read more.]
