See You in the Funny Pages

The Commoner is not without a sense of humor. Building off our ALA-recognized foray into April foolery earlier this year, The Commoner has started its own cartoon series, which is being developed by our very own Electronic Resources Librarian, Matthew Perrie. Matt’s cartoons will delve into the lighter side of library and librarian life.  Look for Matt’s original comic stylings in our newsletter every month.
Library Instruction Sessions

Would you like your class to become acquainted with library resources? CSC librarians offer a variety of instruction sessions for students. We provide brief tours of the LLC, show students how to use the various online library resources, and assist faculty (and students) in crafting assignments that effectively use library resources. For more information, contact your library liaison.

Books are Moving on Up!

Some of the books in the Rotating Book Collection are getting a promotion... to the LLC’s upper level! Titles include Galileo’s Middle Finger: Heretics, Activists, and the Search for Justice in Science by Alice Dreger, The Deluge: the Great War and the Remaking of the Global Order, 1916-1931 by Adam Tooze, The David Foster Wallace Reader by David Foster Wallace, Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation by Bill Nye, and The Birth of the Pill: How Four Crusaders Reinvented Sex and Launched a Revolution by Jonathan Eig.

 Meet the LLC's Neighbors

The Library Learning Commons (LLC) is much more than a Library. Each month, Shawn Hartman will spotlight one of the units housed in the LLC. First up is the Learning Center and its Coordinator, Frances Gonzalez. The Learning Center is located on the east side on the LLC's main level. Peer Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, the Writing Center, the Speaking Center, and the Back on Track program are free services offered to CSC students through the Learning Center.
