It's delivered to in-boxes across the Chadron State College community and is designed to connect our patrons to LLC activities and events as well as recommend useful academic resources and research strategies through a variety of social media.

Open Licensing for GLAMs

Interested in the open licensing movement? Or, simply wondering what it is? Join a room full of librarians and other GLAM-types (i.e., people who work in or with galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) in a panel-style webinar about the this offshoot of the open education resources (OER) movement. Panelists include Smithsonian, National Gallery, and Creative Commons thought leaders. Join us at 12 noon on March 5 in LLC 111 or sign up to join in online.

CSC recently showcased its award-winning no-materials-cost course development process at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Winter Meeting in New Orleans. The course development team members comprised a student, a librarian, an instructional designer, a faculty member, and an LMS specialist--Maggie Darnell, Christine Fullerton, Elilzabeth Ledbetter, Jesse Sealy, and Bryant Serres, respectively. They shared with conference goers details of the history and evolution of the course development process which uses open education resources (OER) and no-cost materials. [Read more.]
What's on the Horizon for Higher Ed

A New Service for Faculty

To help reduce educational costs to CSC students, the LLC now offers a service to faculty who seek to reduce or eliminate course textbook costs through the use of OERs, free texts, or current LLC subscriptions. Simply complete the Alternative Textbook Search Request, and friendly librarians will come to your aid!
Sustainable Natural Resource Management

Anthonly Perlinski will discuss sustainable natural resource management in the second Graves lecture this semester.
