The Countdown to Neighbour Day starts now!

With less than two months to go until Neighbour Day – it’s time to start planning how you will celebrate on Sunday 26 March. Whether you’re planning to host a street party, or show your support through social media, there are plenty of ways you can get involved.

You can help us kick off Neighbour Day from 20 – 26 March by joining our ‘Countdown to Neighbour Day’ online event. The Countdown will be held on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles. We’ll be sharing neighbourly stories, tips for connecting with the people around you, relevant research, why our 2017 theme: The importance of social connection for the elderly is so important, and much more. You can be a part of the Countdown by downloading our Selfie Sign, taking a photo with it, and sharing the photo with us via social media along with a positive message of why you think knowing your neighbours is important.

Relationships Australia survey finds many Australians are lonely

They found that more than one-third of respondents to their online survey reported that they often felt isolated while a further 40% reported that they felt isolated some of the time. The survey results highlight the need to reach out to the people around us.
