IBM Cambridge Installation

The Switzer Group invited me to make a huge 90' long wall installation for IBM's Cambridge offices. 3000 yards of rope, 810 square feet of wall, 73 double english knots, 4 constrictors, and thousands of turns. What a wonderful experience. It was big, but I want go even bigger . . .

Next Spoon Carving Workshops

Four upcoming classes:

Sept 4 at the Archery in San Francisco

Sept 11 at the Handcraft Studio School in Berkeley

Oct 15 at the Walnut Creek Recreation Center

. . . and a two-day spoon carving retreat in November at the soon-to-open Suttle Lodge, opened by the Ace Hotel Portland team, in the Deschutes National Forest near Bend, Oregon.

The Year of Knots, Continued

The #YearofKnots is more than halfway over and it's an understatement to say it has positively affected my life. The knots are my art school, a history lesson, my daily flow practice, and most importantly, a new language.
. . . and the New York Times likes them too. Link.

Giving Yourself Permission

After speaking about the knots at the Layers conference in June, I wrote down my talk about the journey to creativity, navigating life transitions, and giving myself permission here. My hope is you'll give yourself permission too.

McGuire Collaboration

I worked with the McGuire Furniture showrooms in NYC and San Francisco to create custom Helix Lights and Circuit Boards, now for sale! McGuire has the exclusive on a beautiful new rose gold Helix color.

SF Art Show at FLAX

The beloved FLAX art supply store on Valencia at Market is hosting the SF Art Show in their recently cleared-out space. My friends and gallerists at Satellite of Love co-curate the show, which opens August 20th from 5-9pm, and closes Sept 17th.

I will have several Circuit Boards on display as well as other rope sculptures.

Hope to see you soon! Thank you for reading, darlings. -- Windy

“I think it’s important for people to know there are all kinds of paths, and all kinds of ways to live a life, and all kinds of things you can begin as you age. And so here I go, leaning toward my fifties, hair greying, wrinkles gathering, experiences accruing, insights accumulating, joy abounding.”
