Work with us in R&D and communications
We are currently looking for two professionals to join our team: a Manager, Research and Development (R&D), and a CottonInfo Communications Lead.
The Manager, Research and Development will manage a portfolio of R&D investments to support the achievement of the CRDC Strategic RD&E Plan - from prioritisation through to delivery. This will include engagement with stakeholders, identification of research priorities, brokering and procurement of research collaborations, and delivery, monitoring and review of project and program performance.
The CottonInfo Communication Lead will use their scientific communications expertise to assist CottonInfo to improve the rate and reach of adaption and adoption of R&D, and continue to build CottonInfo’s reputation as a trusted information source.
Applications for both positions are now open, closing Friday 23 April. For more information, read the position information packages available at www.crdc.com.au/about-us/employment-information. To apply, submit your CV and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria via the website.
CRDC Board meets in Narrabri
The CRDC Board has met in person in Narrabri this week - the first time the new Directors, appointed by the Minister for Agriculture in October 2020 - have been able to meet face-to-face due to COVID-19 challenges. During their two-day meeting, the Board visited CSD's Wee Waa facilities and met with CSD's Board and Management.
CRDC's Board of Directors. LtoR: Richard Haire (Chair), Les Copeland, Danielle Kennedy, Ross Burnett, Rosemary Richards (Deputy Chair), Ian Taylor (Executive Director), Peta Slack-Smith and Gary Fitt.
What's happening around the region?
CottonInfo's team of Regional Extension Officers work with consultants in their respective valleys to put together a cotton crop check - a summary of cotton crop information from across the regions. Importantly, the information provides a snapshot in time - it is not a full report, nor agronomic advice - just a summary of what the REOs and consultants have noted in each region. The latest Regional Cotton Crop Check is available here.
