Neighborhood Spotlight:
Deon Santana of Astor Hair

Astor Hair is an iconic NYC spot, one that was almost lost forever during some of COVID's most difficult days in NYC. However, the beloved spot was saved. The NoHo BID is excited to spotlight Deon Santana, a fan-favorite barber that's worked on Astor Place for years now. Read our spotlight on Deon here

Have Neighborhood Safety Concerns? Bring Them to the NYPD Build the Block

The NYPD 9th and 6th Precincts, which cover NoHo, are hosting their quarterly Build the Block meetings in the coming weeks. These meetings are your chance to resolve non-emergency safety issues affecting your block, building, or business. Learn more about the meetings and how to attend here
Rezoning Updates from the NoHo BID

On May 17, 2021, the New York City Planning Commission (CPC) voted to certify the SoHo/NoHo neighborhood rezoning application from the Department of City Planning. The CPC hearing marks the initiation of the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP), following the Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Now Manhattan Community Board 2 must hold public hearings and issue recommendations to inform the rezoning on the behalf of community members and stakeholders within 60 days. Learn about the Rezoning here.

A number of hearings hosted by Community Board 2 will take place this month. All meetings will start at 6:30 PM.
