Rainy Days
While students Stateside are getting days off from snowstorms, our students in Te Wouj are out of school due to rain!  When there is a good deal of rain, the river level rises and the current gets even stronger, preventing some of our students from safely crossing it to get to school.  There is no bridge in the area, so many of our students (and teachers) must wade across the river every day to get to school!  Our teachers will investigate the river level and current after rain, and then cancel school if it is too dangerous for our students.  When one student was asked if he was happy when school was cancelled earlier last week, we expected him to say yes!  However, he said, 'No I'm not happy about it, I love school.'  That warms our hearts!

Another Round of Letters!

We are entering our next round of letters, thank you to all who have submitted your letters already!  The kids are loving them!  If you still need to submit, just click here and follow the instructions to submit online!  Your students are unveiling their fun personalities and love writing things for you.  One student even said he likes writing his name even more than eating rice (which is saying a lot)!
My favorite subject is...
Many may have noticed some of the favorite subjects of each of your sponsor students in school.  For some it is math, for many it is writing, and for some, it may become art class!  As a school, we are beginning art classes periodically with our students!  It is difficult to get supplies and bring them to our school, but we are excited to begin this new learning experience together!  Our preschool is pictured above here working on leaf-rubbing for the first time this year!
