Happy Fall from Calliope’s Call!


We are thrilled to present the winners of our first annual Call for Scores Competition! We are incredibly fortunate to have received such a wide range of high-level works to consider for our upcoming concert cycle, In Her Words: Women’s Voices in Verse & Song. Out of over 50 submissions from across the United States and abroad (Europe, Asia, the UK, Russia, and American states on both coasts and the Midwest!) we narrowed our selection down with difficulty to 7 Winners and 4 Honorable Mentions. Here they are!

Founder & Artistic Director of Calliope's Call

Founder & Artistic Director, Megan Roth, is a professional classical singer who performs opera, oratorio, and in professional ensembles around the country. Her passion for the art song genre led her to form Calliope’s Call, which creates exciting and diverse performances of art song for the cultural enrichment of our community and beyond. Our mission is threefold:
  • Showcase the vast genre of art song by programming music of traditional as well as contemporary composers.
  • Grant performance opportunities to professional singers and instrumentalists who wish to explore art song.
  • Provide arts access to those who traditionally may have been financially excluded.
