The goal for next phase of the reopening plan at Milwood are for Kalamazoo County numbers to be under a 7% positivity rate and fewer than 70 cases per million people. Current Kalamazoo County numbers are 6.5% positivity rate and 84.1 daily cases per million people.
It has been so good to see you all on Sundays outdoors, especially on gorgeous days like we’ve been having. Our county’s test positivity rate and caseload are almost at the level for our next phase of reopening, though we aren’t ready to announce indoor worship quite yet. What I can announce is that, starting this Sunday, masks will be optional for outdoor worship. According to the latest medical guidance, the risk of transmission outdoors is minimal, so long as we either maintain social distance or are vaccinated. Of course, if you feel safer wearing a mask, or just want to show off your collection from last year, go for it! It won’t hurt anyone else if you wear it. And, as always, if you aren’t feeling well, please stay home. We don’t give out attendance awards, so don’t risk others’ health by bringing any illness (not just COVID-19).
Thanks for your continued patience, and we’ll see you (maybe even your face) Sunday!
