Parish Staffing
During this time, we need to do our part to slow the spread of the virus and protect the vulnerable. If your employees feel vulnerable – for any reason – they should work from home. In some cases, parish offices may need to close. However, essential work, such as paying bills, must continue.

At the same time, if you feel that your staff cannot properly maintain the church for private prayer, please coordinate with your neighboring parishes to offer other times for parishioners to visit a church for private prayer. It’s important that you communicate when and where the nearest Catholic church is that is open for their prayer.

As always, parishioners should have a way to contact their priest should they have an emergency pastoral or sacramental need. Only when alternate plans for prayer have been made, should you communicate that your parish church must close.
In order to protect the vulnerable in our community an open church must always have a volunteer or staff member present to ensure social distancing and to sanitize spaces.
