Rhodes/Sheepdrove/Glasgow/Edinburgh/Paris

May was an extremely fruitful month with great musical collisions in different parts of Europe !

It began with an astonishing experience in Greece, where as a welcomed native for a few days on the island of Rhodes , I took part in the "Arte con Anima" Piano Festival, playing at the inspiring Palace of the Grand Magister . The warm crowd and fantastic cuisine made this trip feel way too short!

Shortly after the Greek expedition I was sent to represent the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at a 'battle' - the "Sheepdrove Piano Competition" in England , where all of the Royal Schools within the UK send two of their top piano students to gladiate against one other for the title of 1st prize winner.
Luckily, with the help of the 'intense' preparation on the island of Rhodes, I managed to gain THE title and become the Winner of the competition, leading to another special event the following day in the "Newbury Spring Festival" - the lunchtime concert as the 1st prize winner.

As the roller coaster of events was still ongoing, I came back from the competition for my final exam at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, which I successfully passed, and have managed to Graduate after 2 years of working on becoming a "Master" of the piano performance.

The month concluded with two events in two days –
A small concert for some amazing guests at the house of the famous writer and marvelously eccentric Alexander mcCall Smith, a great supporter of the Arts and possessor of some fine Ears too, and lastly, my preliminary round for a Diploma I'm doing at the Paris Conservatoire.

The treat this month comes from the recording session I had with the BBC Bitesize Scotland in the Castlesound Studios in Edinburgh. The video is intended to help young children understand the style of the Classical Period and some musical concepts (crescendo, diminuendo...and Subito all of a sudden), reason why I am giving all that literature in the beginning :)
