Fall soccer is around the corner!
The coaches have just received their team assignments and will be reaching out to you soon. If you haven't heard from anyone by Monday, Aug 19, please get in touch with your Division Coach Administrator. Some divisions still have waiting lists, and if more parents decide to volunteer, those players can join a team. Coaches, Referees, and Team Managers make it possible to put on this program, so please consider telling your DCA that you're ready to volunteer.
When are practices? When are games? First, the DCAs finalize teams, and coaches confirm their team's volunteers. If you can referee or assistant coach, please tell your head coach right away so you are included in the team roster. This is important for scheduling games, so coaches and referees don't have to be in two places at the same time. Coaches request practice fields, and assignments will be posted on Aug 28. The game schedule usually comes out Labor Day weekend, the weekend before games begin. 16U and 19U begin next week, Aug 25. You'll find all the information at https://ayso13.org/.
Volunteers: Kickoff dinner on Aug 27 at LaSalle HS at 6 pm. There will be swag, and you could win Galaxy tickets!
Team Managers: Pre-season briefing on Aug 28 at 7:30 pm at the clubhouse.
Galaxy Night: Sep 21 at the LA Galaxy in Carson, CA. Save the date!
Open House: If you're new to AYSO, or just want to meet the other volunteers, please come to the Open House at the clubhouse (711 W Woodbury, Unit E, Altadena) on August 19. You can trade in your used shoes at the Cleat Exchange starting at around 6 pm, and there'll be a short orientation for new families at 7 pm. Board members will be available to discuss any soccer questions you have.
Commissioner, AYSO Region 13
ps. If you’re cleaning out the closet and find some old cleats or shinguards in good condition, go ahead and drop them off anytime in the bin outside the clubhouse.
