Jardine Organ Update: Easter Donations in Honor of Richard Brode
In lieu of donations for Easter flowers, we're asking congregants to donate to our organ restoration fund this season — while still maintaining the ability to honor their loved ones, per our Easter tradition.
As you know, we've been working to repair and recondition our George Jardine Organ for some time. Progress has been halted due to the pandemic, however the restoration progress will begin again. As of March 2021, we are close to meeting our $13,500 goal with only $1,875 left to raise.
Until his passing this last fall, Richard Brode led the organ project with a deep passion and commitment. He often remarked that he wanted the organ restoration to be his lasting legacy at SMT. We would like to honor him by completing the fundraising for these efforts this spring.
If you are interested in helping us reach our goal, you can make a contribution here. Please include the names of individuals whom you would like to honor and/or remember on Easter; an accompanying list will be included in the Easter bulletin.
And never fear, there will still be a display of Easter lilies, hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips celebrating our new life in Christ on the altar! We will all enjoy the blooms on Easter Sunday, then share with the larger Hoboken community by featuring them in the SMT Center windows.
Thank you, friends!
